You’re not going to like what I’m about to reveal. But trust me, this is going to provide you the greatest relief in the long run. Once you understand this and see it at work, your life will improve incredibly and you will never look back.
And by the way, I am going to bust another widerspread lie - what people think is Karma.
It goes like this: You’re in a casual conversation with some well meaning friends, catching up about all things of life especially giving news about mutual friends. As it turns out, we usually share what stays with us, really good news or bad ones. Feeling sorry for the said friend and having nothing better to say, one will close the conversation with “I believe everything happens for a reason”. Understating that this happens because someone (heaven?) wanted it to happen, or karma happened (some sort of retribution for past lives deed)
Now who cares if it’s wrong or right. It was only an opinion, right ? Well, I do have a problem with this. First, it implies that we have no choice and somewhat need to “accept our fate”. (By the way, when people say they accept their circumstances, they mean to say they are resigning to it). Second that kind of thinking only leads to heavy depression, because who would like to feel like a puppet on a string, in the hands of a capricious god?
Thankfully when I went through my greatest breakdown, I came across the “law of attraction”, which I experimented with in all the domains of my life, including my relationships, my career, finances and health. And I can tell with certainty that it is closer to the truth than “everything happens for a reason”. Let me get into more details. The law of attraction states that you attract situations, things and people according to the vibration we emit. Put in simplified terms, our vibration is made of our thoughts and emotions, conscious and unconscious. Obviously what gets us in trouble are what lies in our subconscious mind, a perfect example of “what we don’t know can hurt us”. And that is why we’d better be aware of our emotions.
If you hold the belief that “it is difficult to make money”, then you will actually have hard time to make money or hold onto it. If you believe that all men are liars, ultimately that will be your overall experience. You won’t be proven wrong.
I won’t lie to you: it takes a lot of work to become aware of self, but then as I seeked to take back my life, and since I didn’t have any other option, this is what I decided to pursue. It was more empowering than letting fate decide. Slow and steady, I turned all my anger and negative energy into motivation fuel to turn around my life, and little by little, I felt happier, interacted in more loving ways towards myself and others, understanding myself more in the process, and changing my relationship with life to be more playful, like a witty dialogue going between her and me. Seeing situations as feedback about my vibration so I could make adjustments to be happier. I used to think that I needed to heal quite thoroughly in order to “get somewhere”. But it turns out that it is not necessary at all. While genuinely positive, I used to hold quite dark emotions including rage, depression, despair…etc… I would say that most days I experience blue sky, and sometimes a few rainy days. But when I encounter a big trigger, i can feel quite stormy inside. I now know that big storms precede enormous breakthroughs and that I am dealing with deeply ingrained patterns, could be personal or ancestral, who cares, I rejoice in the outcome that awaits me.
Now how does it tie with the concept of Karma? It is simple. Karma is the law of cause and effect, but what I stand to correct is this: If something ‘bad’ is happening in your life right now, it is not punishment from another life. Why is it important? Because you might accept life’s knock down as debt to serve. But wouldn’t you agree that we all turn quite bitter when we get hit too much on the head? Secondly, it really is another way not to take responsibility for our actions: I see too many friends blaming their ex partner for their failed marriage. But:
- who made the decision to marry?
- Maybe they refused to see the red flags ?
- Maybe they married to please someone, to fit in, or because they didn’t think the righ person would come along…
- Maybe they avoided conflict until they couldn’t take it anymore
That’s a lot of maybe’s, and there could be thousands more. Doubt knows no end, until we clear it.
It is already dramatic enough to go through a bad marriage and divorce…but not to learn the lessons and risk repeating it would be even more so. After two or three bad experience, you might feel completely inadequate and unlovable…
All while solutions actually exist. Please don’t turn the blind eye on life. Life doesn’t happen TO us, it happens FOR us. If you actually could open your mind to that possibility…
